GROUP LEADER, POWER TRANSMISSION/DISTRIBUTION

Location: Northern California or Northern Colorado, CA
A global leader in engineering, consulting, design, program management, construction and operations is currently searching for a Lead for the Transmission Engineering Group. In this capacity you will lead and supervise a group that includes engineers and designers that are working on challenging and impactful projects around the world. The objective of the group is to help utility Clients provide safe, clean and reliable sources of Electric power to heat homes and schools, run factories and provide goods and services that communities depend upon. As the Lead you will also:
•Develop quality plans and assume responsibility for technical quality of engineering work products.
•Monitor and manage staff levels to accommodate workloads.
•Assure design conformance to Client and Company design standards.
•Perform design, design checking and manage the design process and QA for transmission tower structural design, foundation design, transmission line design, surveying and civil/structural duties associated with the design of overhead transmission lines.
 
Basic Qualifications
•BSCE or a related field (MS or MBA is preferred).
•Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
•10 years demonstrated experience in design of electric transmission projects up through 345kV using PLS CADD (15 years demonstrated experience in design and project management of electric transmission projects up to 500 kV is preferred.)
•Superior technical design skills with multiple client design standards.
•Good written and oral communication skills.
•Experience in management of transmission line design projects in a consulting engineering and EPC environment.
•Demonstrated business development and or client management experience.
•Field construction experience is preferred.
