Sr. Consultant & Project Manager, Strategic Planning – Renewable Energy

The company needs a Sr. PM to lead renewable energy projects in the areas of strategic planning, resource planning, and system planning. He/She will manage small to medium size renewable energy consulting and engineering services projects as well as small EPC projects. The Sr. PM will develop new RE business and work with RE sales and marketing team; assist in the implementation of the company's renewable energy business plan and oversee budget expenditures supporting the plan; and assess all renewable energy and energy storage technologies including solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, hydro and marine.
The Sr. PM will also:
  • Lead and contribute to proposals. Guide scope, budget, and schedule development.
  • Work with clients to address complex issues regarding current and future of renewable energy in regulated and deregulated markets.
  • Develop and mentor others in financial analysis of renewable energy projects under various incentive conditions. Understanding of key drivers that impact economics for multiple renewable energy options is critical.
  • Lead development of innovative tools and approaches to address emerging issues in the RE industry such as high distributed generation penetration, distribution system impacts, and integration with the T&D system.
  • Supervise staff and conduct performance reviews, career development, mentoring, and recognition.
The position requires:
  • Bachelor degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, or related field.
  • Eight plus (8+) years of experience in the Energy field, especially with respect to strategic planning and renewable energy.
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience in Project Management capacities.
  • Knowledge and experience with a variety of renewable technologies: biomass, wind, geothermal, solar, hydro, etc.
  • Familiarity with one or more modeling tools such as CYMdist, OpenDSS, Grid Lab-D, etc.
  • Working knowledge of power market modeling and renewables integration analysis.
  • Working knowledge of other “grid-edge” technologies, such as energy storage and demand response solutions.
  • Experience with renewables in international markets
  • Understanding of rate making and regulatory issues related to renewable energy.
