Engineering Manager - Bridge and Interchange Design

Location: San Jose, CA

A Structures Engineering Manager is needed for the company's award-winning San Jose, CA office. The incumbent will:
  • Provide leadership and manage day to day operations of a dynamic design group.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including labor, expense and project-related budgets.
  • Ensure delivery on group short-term and mid-term business objectives.
  • Be a leader in business development efforts, workload planning, recruiting and talent pool development.
  • Serve as PM on major projects (task management and planning, scheduling, coordination of detailed phases of the engineering work) and as CM for significant clients.
  • Lead proposal development efforts.
  • Lead networking to maintain and enhance the company’s public image and reputation as an engineering firm of choice.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, training and support to junior engineering staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Current California PE and/or SE certification
Minimum 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in general structural with a focus on bridge design, ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria.  
Project management experience working on complex projects with multi-discipline staff. 
Ability to manage teams effectively according to project budgets and delivery schedules.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
